Economy, Public Policy to Jeopardize Credit Status of Non-Profit Hospitals
State cuts in Medicaid spending will threaten the credit status of non-profit hospitals in the coming years, according to Moody’s, the credit rating agency.
Among the challenges states face in funding their Medicaid programs are the still-lagging economy; the loss of federal stimulus funding; and growing Medicaid enrollment. Together, these challenges will affect the credit rating of non-profit hospitals over the next few years.
