Medicaid Directors Recommend Program Integrity Improvements

Successful business man greeting a colleague during a meetingA number of steps could improve the integrity of state Medicaid programs, according to a new paper issued by the National Association of Medicaid Directors.

The paper, Rethinking Medicaid Program Integrity:  Eliminating Duplication and Investing in Effective, High-Value Tools, offers a number of recommendations, including clarifying the respective roles of the state and federal governments in program integrity efforts; improving collaboration and communication between Medicaid and Medicare; investing resources to address individual state Medicaid programs; and evaluating current integrity programs.
